- Leaving the Village: In the manga, Maria becomes the next person on the list of elimination. Maria is chased by the Tainted Cats and almost killed, when suddenly Mamoru arrives to protect her and ultimately kill them. Maria and Mamoru then escape and he explains they should run away and leave together. Soon after they leave Mamoru asks Maria if she is fine with them leaving like this. Maria then says “You’re the person I love the most, after Saki.”
